This invention relates to openers for closed containers, such as microcentrifuge tubes. Microcentrifuge tubes are small plastic tubes, generally with a capacity of 0.4-1.7 cm3 of liquid. They are widely used in biotechnology laboratories for working with radioactively labeled chemicals, and as vessels for storing biochemicals, or for conducting biochemical reactions. They have tight closures with a tab, an example of which is shown in the figures. In general, they are opened by pushing up the cork tongue using your thumb or a regular beer bottle opener. The aim of the invention is to improve ease of operation. The base 2 has a shape closely enclosing the tube 3 for a microcentrifuge, with a semi-oval opening 4 (depth B about 0.5 cm; length C about 1 cm and width D about 1 cm), and generally a rectangular recess 5 (depth E about 0 , 2 cm, width F about 0.7 cm and depth G about 0.2 cm). The opener is made of solid plastic material that can be autoclaved, for example acrylic, according to standard technology. The microcentrifuge tube is made with an opening 12 into which the annular portion 13 of the plug 9 fits snugly. The protruding tongue 10 projects approximately 0.2 cm from the outer perimeter 11 of the tube. The tube 9 is connected by a loop 14 to the tube 3. Figures 2, 3 show that in order to open the closed tube 3 for microcentrifuge (figure 2, a), which is in the rack 15 for test tubes, the opener is positioned so that the protruding tab 10 of the stopper is directed towards the recess 5 of the opener, and the upper protrusion 7 is pressed down, as shown by arrow 16, onto the plug 9. The opener is then fed, as shown by arrow 17, towards the tongue 10, until the lower projection b approaches the outer perimeter of the tube 3 (figure 2). The two walls of the upper lip 7 help to ensure that the protruding tongue 10 is positioned to enter the hole 4 and the notch 5 alternately. When the tongue 10 is inside the recess 5, the opener is rotated, as indicated by arrow 18, that the lower lip 6 exerts upward pressure on the tongue 10, and the upper lip 7 exerts a slight pressure downward on the plug 9. Thus, the plug 9 is removed from the hole 12 0 tube 3 (Fig. 2, c). Microcentrifuge tube 3 may be closed by the reverse action indicated by the arrow 19, or by pressing a finger on the stopper. The opener can be successfully used when tube 3 is in the operator’s hand, and not in tripod 15. When a lot of tubes 3 are placed in the tube, as shown in FIG. 2, each tube can be opened with the opener 0 and the other tubes do not interfere with the process.
